Hey Now in Dubai, UAE Life has taken a twist.. a turn. I got an opportunity to work and live in Dubai and so I moved here. Anu will be joining me in December. A chance in life to be part of the mosy happening lifescape in the world could not be missed. I had to make the move..

I am now part of Iriscap a local investment company which is into HR, Facilities, Outsourcing etc. I manage a small part of their business here. I am very excited to see what life has in store for me in this forign land. By the way Dubai not so foreign afterall; there more Indians here than any other nationalities so it is really not so much different than India in that sense.

So, Hey Dubai, here I come...

"Enchanting Munnar", Our Munnar Trip

Enchanting Munnar

The beauty of Munnar is so captivating that to describe it in words would put even theeloquence of woodsworth to test. So all i would say is if you haven't seen it yet then Munnar should be on the top of the list of your next holiday destination.
Munnar or Moonar, as it is called by the locals means, "union of three rivers". Munnar is also known by many other names,such as, "little england", "Switzerland of the east" etc. It was the favouirate summer destination of the British during the colonial rule. TheEnglish felt at home here as the weather felt the same as london and they were the ones to have introduced tea plantaion to the area, for which it is today so well known.
One can see tea plantations spread across the length and breadth of Munnar. The entire view is so picture perfect that it looks straight out of a landscape painting. The lush green spread across valley, the countless waterfalls, and the wood covered mountains makes you wonder if all this beauty is indeed natural or is it all man made? All put in place perfectly to fit in to the wonderous landscape! Well as i had mentioned earlier, any attemp to fully capture the beauty of Munnar is futile. So i leave it at that.
Our stay there of 3 nights and 4 days was enough to have covered all the important tourist spots of Munnar, however it was not enough to have trully discovered the so many different hidden treasures that i am sure Munnar has to offer. We did every activity on offer like driving around the plantations, boating(Kundala lake), trekking(top station), wild life safari(Eravikulam National Park), shopping(city market) and of course indulging in the local cuisines!
We also went to the "Anai Mudi", the highest peak in Southern India. It is here that the Eravilulam National Park is located.We even spotted and captured on video the famed NilgiriThar, which is the most famous local wildlife of the region. Unfortunarely,like many other exotic species the Nilgiri Thar too is an endearged species and hence not too many of them can be spotted in the wild.However, we could not help but miss the "Nilkurunji" the most famous of the flora of Munnar.This wild flower quiet unbeleivably blooms only once in 12 years! Too bad for us that it was in December of 2006, that it had bloomed last. So close yet so far...wish we were there.

Bon Voyage Bhai!

Bon Voyage Bhai! Pawan was the first of the Koyals to have traveled abroad and now he is the first one to have moved abroad for work. After a long period of, "to be or not to be" itz finally happened.Though Bhabhi and Sid will join him only by mid August. All our best wishes are with you and we are sure that itz a move that will do a whole lot of good for your career (and mine ;-) ha! ha!).

Well one thing is for sure, now all the rest of the Koyals will definitely get to visit forein... Besides with its shopping festivals, exclusive restaurants & lounges and cultural mix Dubai is one hellova place to visit.

SO DONT FEEL BAD ABOUT LEAVING HOME, WE WILL ALL SEE YOU SOON!!!

Meet the Nayudus!

My In-laws; The Nayudus - Shekhar and Nalini celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary today!

Mamma & Pappa as we lovingly call them are an extremely loving and caring couple. They are the kind of people who express less in words but more in action. They made me feel like I was a part of the family from the day one. The entire family though not physically together, played their part well in celebrating the occasion. Vijay (My brother-in-law; he stays in Jakarta) had ordered for a cake for the occasion. Mamma,Pappa cut the cake and the along with Anu(She is in Bangalore for her training) and Surat Aunty celebrated the occasion this afternoon. Vijay had also sent in a Anniversary card to wish the couple. Agya(My sister-in-law) who is currently in Kathmandu woke up Anu early this morning to tell her to hand over a gift & a card tucked away inside her drawer for Mamma & Pappa! Well you see she was in Bangalore last month and very thoughtfully planned this before she left for Kathmandu.

Anu will be giving our gift to Mamma & Pappa later in the evening today as a token of our love. Well, as I write these thoughts down, I am feeling quite bad that I missed the whole action inspite of being so close to Bangalore. At the same time though, I feel very happy and lucky to be part of such a loving family!

My Big Fat Indian Wedding!

In the december of last year i got married to my long time love. It finally happened after a relationship that lasted 5 years and many "edge of the seat" experiences! In the end it turned out to be quiet a anti-climax, with both our families coming through brilliantly and the event was fashioned in all its gala like the typical Big Fat Indian Wedding. There were lots of guests, tons of curry and dozens of exotic costumes. And Oh yes!... we had more than our fair share of endless rituals and chanting of mantras.

It was indeed a grand event and with the blessings of god it turned out to be a truly memorable one. Inspite of the two parties being very different from each other in more ways than one and inspite of the hectic activity involved, no one got hurt either physically or emotionally!

Both of us are today happily married and have joined the never ending list of couples to be living as man and wife.

Well as they say, all is well that ends well!
